VIDEO: RCMP seek leads in Vanderhoof homicide investigation

Police are seeking information on the death of Gordon Sims, who was killed in January 2025

BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit (ND MCU) is continuing the investigation into the homicide of Gordon Sims of a Vanderhoof man.

They have released Sims' identity in the hopes of furthering the investigation.

The death took place in the 100 block of Fifth Street East in Vanderhoof, between Friday, Jan. 10 and Tuesday, Jan. 14.

Police are looking to speak with the individual in the following videos who may have information about the crime, and seek the public’s assistance in identifying them.

The family of Sims is urged anyone who may have any information regarding this investigation to please call the RCMP.

“We are the family of Gordon Sims. He is a beloved brother, father, grandfather, son and uncle who was tragically taken from us in January of this year. Gord was a loving, caring, thoughtful, funny, articulate man who did not deserve what was given to him," family members said in a statement released by the RCMP.

“We as the family are pleading for any assistance, anything that is known. And if anyone can identify the person on the video that will be released with this, please contact the Vanderhoof RCMP and the Crime Stoppers Unit if you don't want to be identified. Thank you very much."
