There's no better way to make it easier on loved ones than to ensure everything's in place after a person dies.
The Gift of Preparedness Day goes Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Civic Centre in room 208. Entry is $2 and that includes lunch.
Anyone interested can attend this event that covers how best to get prepared so all a person's wishes are honoured at their passing.
The day includes presentations on finances, legal matters, medical, wellness and funeral planning.
"The idea is to get people thinking about things before end of life," said Lola Dawn Fennell, general manager of the Council of Seniors Resource Centre. "What do we need to know and prepare for? What documents should be in place? Does our family and loved ones know what our wishes are? Because this preparedness is one of the best gifts we can give the people we will leave behind."
People can register through the Resource Centre by calling 250-564-5888. Seats are limited.
