B.C. Liberal leadership candidate George Abbott will be in Prince George this evening, part of a final northern sweep before voting takes place Saturday.
Abbott will be accompanied by former leadership candidates Moira Stilwell and Ed Mayne, who dropped out, and have thrown their support behind Abbott.
Stillwell was a rookie cabinet minister, while Mayne is the mayor of Parksville on Vancouver Island.
Earlier in the day, Abbott will be in Terrace, west of Prince George.
Other Liberal leadeship candidates include Kevin Falcon, Christy Clark and Mike de Jong.
The party will vote for a new leader using a complex weighted voting system and preferential ballots.
During a debate last weekend, all four candidates agreed that planned increases to health premiums and B.C. Hydro rates should continue and that teachers shouldn't expect more money for salaries in their next contract.
They all offered cautious support for a controversial Northern Gateway oil pipeline while stressing the need to consult local communities and First Nations as various approval processes run their course.
