Garbage costs delay RD budget

A regional district budget decision has been put off until later this month. The board of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George was presented with a final budget proposal on Thursday afternoon.

A regional district budget decision has been put off until later this month.

The board of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George was presented with a final budget proposal on Thursday afternoon. But instead of the usual formality of accepting the document - all its components had already been pre-debated at public meetings before getting to this stage - they voted overwhelmingly in favour of setting a new decision day.

The uncharacteristic move was suggested by RDFFG director and Prince George Mayor Dan Rogers so more calculations could be made on the issue of garbage fees.
