A 22-year-old driver is regretting his failure to properly clean the frost off his windshield before taking to the road on Wednesday morning.

As a result of the decision, his Honda sedan ended up wedged underneath a city transit bus on North Ospika Boulevard at North Tabor Boulevard just before 10 a.m.

"Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the car did not properly remove frost from the windows before driving," Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said. "He did not see the bus in front of him and as a result rear-ended the bus."

The sedan suffered significant damage while the driver, who was the lone occupant, was a little sore but otherwise uninjured and was issued a Motor Vehicle Act violation ticket for driving with an obstructed windshield. Damage to the bus was minor.

It could have been worse, Douglass warned.

"The Prince George RCMP want to remind the public that failing to clear windows of frost and snow could result in serious injury or even death," he said. "Please take a minute to ensure all your windows and mirrors are clear and you have visibility in all directions."
