Environment Canada has issued a warning for freezing rain in the Prince George area this afternoon and evening.
"An approaching Pacific frontal system is spreading moisture over Central Interior this afternoon.," Environment Canada said in the warning.
"The mild air initially accompanying this system is warm enough to produce rain at higher elevations however surface temperatures remain below zero in many locales.
"As a result periods freezing rain are expected to continue until this evening when precipitation should change to snow."
The warning was issued shortly before 3 p.m.
