If you are thinking about buying, building or renovating a home, why not go on a free tour of homes in the community to get some ideas!
The Canadian Home Builder’s Association of Northern BC is holding the 2019 Parade of Homes where people can get a chance to check out the styles, neighbourhoods and builders available in the community.
It is free to participate and there is no pre-registration required.
Attendees can check-in at the home base house at 4096 Brink Place in the Nechako View subdivision for a free pancake breakfast between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Then you can either grab a map to drive yourself to the locations or hop on the parade bus departing from the home-base house at 11 a.m. or again at 2 p.m.
“Last year, the morning bus was full with the over-flow waiting for the afternoon run, so please make certain that you arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the departure time and it’s pretty much load in while seats last” says Terri McConnachie, Executive Officer for the Canadian Home Builder’s Northern BC in a news release. “We visit all of the homes on the map and as we approach each one, I have the opportunity to introduce the company and provide a builder profile along with a quick overview of each home. Folks win contests and prizes while we travel. It’s a ton of fun”.
If you want to sleep in and miss the pancake breakfast, you can catch a free hot dog lunch from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., also at the home base house.
There will even be a parade scavenger hunt with clues hidden in each of the homes on the map and a chance to win a prize.
One of the homes on the map is the Hospice Dream Home lottery house, which will be raffled off to raise money for the Prince George Hospice Society.
The whole event takes place on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, 10 a.m. to 5.p.m.
You can check out more information about the event online and the Home Builder’s Association will make a downloadable map of the locations available the day prior on Friday (Oct. 18).
