A man has been charged with 15 sexual offences and RCMP are urging any other alleged victims to step forward.
Paul Habsburg, 56, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with seven counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault with a weapon, five counts of sexual interference and one count of gross indecency.
The charges are for offences alleged to have been committed between 1984 and 2000 in the Fraser Lake area and against numerous victims, North District RCMP said, and suspect there may be more.
Sexual assault can cause long term, lasting trauma to survivors making it difficult to come forward to police,
said North District Staff Sgt Sascha Baldinger.
Any other possible victims or witnesses are asked to contact the Fraser Lake RCMP at 250-699-7777.
Those who are not ready to report and wish to seek support services are asked contact VictimLinkBC which is a toll-free, confidential, multilingual service available across B.C. and the Yukon 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be accessed by calling or texting 1-800-563-0808 or sending an email to [email protected].
