A handful of projects proposed for the Prince George area have been added to the provincial government's latest major projects inventory.

Here's a look:

- $90 million worth of upgrades to Canfor's Northwood pulp plant including replacement of the recovery boiler. Funds from the federal government's pulp and paper green transformation program, meant to counter U.S. subsidies to its pulp and paper sector, will cover the cost.

- $30 million worth of upgrades to the feed water treatment system at Canfor's Prince George pulp plant, which include the addition of a precipitator to the exhaust system. Funds from the pulp and paper green transformation program will also cover this project.

- $19-million reconstruction of Highway 97 from Link Creek to Bennett Creek, including increased road width and two new bridges over the Pine River. Cariboo Construction Ltd. was awarded the contract and work is to start early this year.

- $20-million hydropower project on Benjamin Creek in the McBride area. The project is listed in B.C. Hydro's 2008 clean power call. No start date has been listed.

It's the third straight quarter that a project has been added to the list of projects worth more than $15 million after going five months without an addition.

Dated for December 2009, the inventory was released Wednesday.
