Federal Mounties say they have arrested a Fort St. John man in Abbotsford who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for 65 charges for weapons offences.
Peter Darcy Bailey, 48, was arrested without incident Sept. 30 at a home in Abbotsford as part of "Project Halter," the RCMP's Federal Serious and Organized Crime unit said Tuesday. The charges are connected to a wider drug trafficking investigation in Halifax, where Bailey was found guilty in August of conspiracy to import cocaine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, and attempted possession for the purpose of trafficking.
"This arrest was one small aspect of the tremendous work our teams have done in support of our Federal counterparts in Halifax," Supt. Richard Bergevin said in a news release.
Bailey will next appear on Oct. 8 in Fort St. John provincial court.
He is scheduled to be sentenced for his trafficking convictions in November.
