The B.C. River Forecast Centre has downgraded the flood watch for several rivers and streams in the Prince George and Quesnel areas.
A high streamflow advisory remains in effect for the Willow River and smaller tributaries in the Prince George area. In addition the high streamflow advisory is in place for Baker Creek and the Cottonwood River near Quesnel.
"River levels in the area peaked Wednesday in response to significant rainfall earlier this week," the forecast centre reported. "Since Wednesday, river levels have been receding."
River levels rebounded slightly due to rain and snow melt runoff Sunday and Monday, but remain below flood levels.
However, water levels on Prince George's two main rivers - the Fraser and Nechako - remain high.
The water level on the Fraser River at the South Fort George monitor was 8.4 metres as of Monday afternoon, according to Environment Canada data. The river level peaked on Thursday at 8.6 metres, before dropping to eight metres early this weekend.
Water levels on the Nechako River have risen steadily since early last week, reaching 3.8 metres at Isle Pierre on Monday - up from 3.2 metres on May 16.
Elsewhere in the region, flood watches are in effect on the Moberly River, Pine River and smaller tributaries of the Peace River in the area of Fort St. John, Hope and Taylor.
A flood watch is also in effect on the Bulkley River near Houston and Smithers.
