A flipped logging truck ha closed Highway 97 North near Honeymoon Creek about 20 km. north of the junction with Highway 39 into Mackenzie.
No detour is in place and the highway will remain closed until as late as 2 p.m., according to North District RCMP traffic services Staff Sgt. Pat McTiernan, as a crew worked to remove the truck and its logs.
"Motorists at the scene will have to wait for highway maintenance personnel to clear one lane, at which point an attempt will be made to open the road to alternating traffic," McTiernan said.
The truck's driver has reportedly escaped uninjured and is cooperating with police.
MacKenzie RCMP are investigating the incident and anyone with any information on this crash or having seen this logging truck, prior to the crash is asked to contact the detachment at 250-997-3288.
