For those struggling to find something new to do, families in B.C. can now show-off their kitchen hacks while helping a local food bank.

Better Together BC officially launched the first kitchen hack challenge for families across the province on Wednesday.

The video contest aims to get community members to “inspire one another” with their best family meal hacks and for every entry received, B.C. dairy farmers will donate $100 to local food banks, which is part of the COVID-19 relief efforts.

Families are required to submit a video no more than 60 seconds showing a family meal hack and why it works for them.

There is a grand prize of $1,000 cash to the winning entry as well as a People’s choice award of $500 cash.

A panel of local judges will be scoring the videos including Samantha Gutmanis, Barb Finley, Art Naploeon and Anna Brisco.

Submission deadline is May 22.
