Sixteen firefighters from three halls were called to a fire at a 7600-block McMaster Crescent home on Friday morning.
On arrival, they found flame coming from the home's chimney.
"A quick attack from fire crews knocked down the fire and protected a travel trailer located in the driveway," Prince George Fire Rescue assistant chief Denis Poulin said in a press release.
"There was heavy damage to the roof structure around the chimney and the chimney wall."
Crews were called to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. and were there for about two hours.
The home's lone occupant was outside when they arrived and there were no injuries, but the home suffered about $100,000 damage.
