A recent RCMP search of a home turned up a cache of weapons and suspected illicit drugs.
Police say officers with the Downtown Safety Unit and Problem Oriented Policing Team executed a search warrant on April 16 at a residence in the 300 block of Nicholson Street, part of an ongoing investigation into criminal activity at the location.
Inside the home, investigators found a firearm, other weapons, ammunition, and a variety of substances believed to be illegal drugs, including approximately 10 grams of suspected cocaine, 20 grams of suspected fentanyl, 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and 55 grams of suspected pharmaceuticals.
The items were seized, and several people known to police were arrested at the scene, RCMP said.
All were released later the same day as investigators await lab analysis of the substances. Any charges would require approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for Prince George RCMP, said the same residence has been the subject of multiple investigations in the past year, including two previous search warrants executed in May 2024.
“Our police officers will continue to keep their focus on those at this residence who continue to cause harm in our community,” Cooper said.
