Prince George RCMP say a situation north of the city that closed Highway 97 has now been resolved without incident.
Mounties responded this morning (Aug. 15) to reports of a man with a firearm at a home on Highway 97 near Christopher Drive.
The highway was closed for roughly two hours while police were on scene.
No other information is being provided at this time.

A police incident north of Prince George involving a firearm has closed a portion of Highway 97.
According to a release, local Mounties responded to reports of a man with a firearm at a home on Highway 97 near Christopher Drive around 9:30 a.m. this morning (Aug. 15).
Officers are looking to resolve the situation, and are asking commuters and the general public to stay away until then.
Traffic patrollers are detouring commuters from both directions at the very north end of Prince George city limits.
- Northbound = Noranda, Northwood Pulpmill, and Old Summit Lake South
- Southbound = Old Summit Lake South and Northwood Pulpmill
