Update: Prince George housing complex fire ruled suspicious

The Elizabeth Fry housing complex was damaged by fires on Oct. 15 and Nov. 17.

An Elizabeth Fry housing complex has been struck by fire for the second time in slightly more than a month.

Prince George Fire Rescue were called out to extinguish a blaze at the complex in the 1400 block of Irwin Street off 15th Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

The same building was already extensively damaged in an October 15 blaze.

"Upon arrival, crews encountered a large blaze at the centre unit of a complex that was already extensively damaged by flames. Crews took immediate action and kept the fire contained in the unit where it originated. Fire crews remained on scene for a couple of hours to extinguish hot spots," a statement issued by the City of Prince George on Friday morning said. "The fire is suspicious in nature and is under investigation."

No one was injured in the fire.
