Flames were coming from a second storey bedroom in a townhouse in the 2100 block of Upland Street just after four this morning when 16 firefighters from three halls arrived on scene.
RCMP officers were already there evacuating residents from adjoining units.
At first there were reports suggesting there might have still been someone unaccounted for so fire crews initiated an immediate search and fire attack.
Fortunately, all occupants managed to get out safely.
Fire crews knocked down the flames quickly and were able to limit the damage to the suite hwere the fire started.
Residents in other units were sent back to their homes after checking for fire extension and conducting air quality checks.
There were no reported injuries.
An estimate of damage is not available as yet.
The investigation into the fire will continue this morning. There is no indication of the cause of the fire at this time.
