Crews from three fire halls answered the call of smoke in a home in the 7200 block of Dawson Road in the Hart at about 10 a.m. Monday.
Firefighters discovered fire in the kitchen area of the home and quelled the flames quickly.
The damage to the kitchen was extensive and there was significant smoke and heat damage throughout the home.
No one was home when the fire started. There were no reported injuries.
The preliminary investigation ruled the fire was accidental.
Damage is estimated at about $30,000.
