Fire swept through a house in the Hart Highway area of the city Saturday afternoon, causing an estimated $350,000 damage.
Sixteen firefighters from three Prince George Fire Rescue halls responded to the call at 4 p.m. Saturday and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the front and side of the house in the 3900 block of Brentwood Court.
Assistant chief Thad Kennedy said after initially launching an interior attack, firefighters were forced to leave the structure and use their hoses in a defensive attack from the outside when the fire began to burn through the interior floor. It took several hours to extinguish the flames and douse the remaining hot spots.
There were no injuries. The fire remains under investigation.
