In a crisis situation, people flee and often leave everything behind. To offer a purse filled with some essential items is a wonderful way to show support.

Martyne Todd, organizer of the local campaign, has put out the call for donations that need to be dropped off by Dec. 1.

In a gently used or new purse include personal necessities such as feminine hygiene products, tissues, shampoos and conditioners, toothbrush and toothpaste, hair brush, gloves, hat, scarf, lip balm and make up, coffee shop gift card, notepad and pen, whistle and or flashlight, chewing gum and Including an encouraging note is always a thoughtful touch.

Drop-off locations are Contours for Men and Women, #110-5212 Domano Blvd., RE/MAX Centre City Realty, 611 Brunswick St. and Blissful Bubbles Boutique, #110-3831 Austin Rd. W.

The #fillapurseforasistercampaign was started by Angel Freedman, a social worker in Ontario. The campaign is now in its fifth year and takes place in communities across the nation.
