The 25th annual Festival of Trees, a major fundraiser for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, will be held Nov. 23 to Dec. 2 at the Prince George Civic Centre.

More than $8 million has been raised in the festival's history for diagnostic equipment at University Hospital of Northern B.C.

Doors will open Nov. 23, with a fashion show highlighting local businesses on Nov. 24. The Santa breakfast goes Nov. 25, followed by Family Day activities. That evening will see the outdoor civic light up take place at dusk.

Elder citizens are invited to the seniors luncheon Nov. 26, while the seniors tea will be held on Nov. 29.

As usual, the gala fundraising auction takes place Friday, Nov. 30. This event sees philanthropists bid against each other on a collection of trips and one-of-a-kind items, while those attending the elegant event enjoy a fancy dinner.

Dance and Dine Among the Pine is set for Dec. 1, suitable for small businesses' Christmas parties or a get together with friends. Saturday morning sees a new addition to the schedule with morning yoga for those who need to unwind after a long week at the festival.

Dec. 2 sees the ever-popular Teddy Bear Breakfast where guests can bring a toy to donate to the less fortunate in exchange for a festival teddy bear.

There are times where the public is invited to view the Festival of Trees where silent auction items can be bid on and the gift shop will have unique gift items for sale.

"This will not be a year to miss," Judy Neiser, CEO for the foundation, said. "Tickets go on sale Oct. 1, so join us in celebrating 25 years. We are so grateful to the community and region for supporting this event for 25 years. This year will be another outstanding year for sure."
