An open-view theft of liquor and a confrontation with a store employee have Prince George RCMP on the hunt for a violent suspect.

Since about 6 p.m. on Dec. 16 police have been trying to identify the man who walked into the Urban Liquor Store (3328 15th Avenue) and caused the incident. Now, having come up empty on a positive ID, they are issuing surveillance photos hoping for the public's recognition.

"The man removed four bottles of liquor from the shelf and walked past the cash register and out the exit," said Prince George RCMP spokesman, Cpl. Craig Douglass.

"A female employee of the business attempted to stop the suspect. A scuffle ensued and the employee was punched in the face."

The assault cost the suspect two of the bottles but he ran off with the other two, valued at $85 total.

The suspect is described as a slim First Nations male, 20 to 23 years old, approximately 6-foot-2, and wearing a grey jacket and jeans.
