One of the biggest names in Canadian governance is coming to Prince George. Federal Auditor General Sheila Fraser will be the guest speaker of the Chamber of Commerce for a Valentine's Day breakfast.

The chamber has a regular speakers' series but this event has some additional star power, said chamber CEO Jennifer Brandle-McCall. So how did they land one of the nation's most powerful civil servants?

"Because we asked," Brandle-McCall said. "At one of our earlier luncheons in the year we asked the participants to jot down on the back of a business card who they would like to hear at a future luncheon. We have a few good leads on some of those suggestions, but one call of inquiry we made was to Sheila Fraser's office. We were told that she is making one last trip to B.C. before she retires in May and she would make herself available to the Prince George Chamber of Commerce."

The topic is still to be determined, but some suggestions are being considered.

"It will be an interesting presentation, no matter what she chooses to speak about," said Brandle-McCall. "We don't often get speakers of her stature coming through town, so we are very happy. She has a huge legacy with the federal government and I'm sure she can speak to many lessons learned over that time."

Fraser's speech is scheduled for about 20 minutes followed by a question-and-answer period.
