Charges against a father and son have been approved this week following a pre-Christmas raid on a Pilot Mountain Road property that yielded a seizure of $1.5 million worth of marijuana.
?Ben? Gjisbertus Jacbus Delege, 60, and his son, Steven Andrew Delege, have both been charged with production of a scheduled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and fraudulent consumption of electricity, North District RCMP said.
The two are scheduled to make their first appearance in Prince George provincial court on Oct. 16.
In all, 1,569 plants in various stages of growth plus growing equipment were uncovered. A 41-year-old Smithers man was also arrested but not charged.
The takedown involved members of the North District RCMP's integrated marijuana enforcement task force, the North District RCMP drug section and the Prince George RCMP.
