The BC Coroners Service is investigating after a fatal boating incident in northern B.C. last weekend.

The provincial team says it was alerted Aug. 22 after a man was pulled from Charlie Lake by RCMP at 10:50 a.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Few other details were available.

Due to the Coroner’s Act and provincial legislation, no details can be disclosed that would identify the victim.

“Our fact finding investigation remains in its early stages and we’ll be looking to determine where, when, why, how, and by what means this male came to his unexpected death,” said coroners service spokesman Andy Watson.
