A 31-year-old man was killed Thursday morning when the pick up truck he was driving collided with a commercial vehicle on Highway 16 two km west of Fraser Lake.
North District RCMP said the man was pronounced dead at the scene while a female passenger in the pickup escaped with minor injuries. The man's name has not been released pending notificiation of next of kin.
Police were called to the scene at 8:39 a.m. The stretch was closed in both directions but, according to DriveBC, reopened to single-lane alternating late Thursday morning. It was completely reopened by late Thursday afternoon.
Drive BC wanred of limited visibility and blowing snow along much of the highway and urged travellers to use caution and consider alternate plans.
