Experts to speak on diabetes

The Canadian Diabetes Association will host a free educational event on Saturday, May 15 at the Westwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

It will feature UNBC researcher Dr. Sarah Gray, podologist Dr. Karen Le Francois and registered dietitian Louise LeFebvre and volunteer Nel Peach.

Gray will showcase the resources in the community, Le Francois will speak about managing diabetes foot syndrome, LeFebvre will give advise on how to stop the cycle of nibbling empty calories and Peach will show how everyone can help the 283,000 British Columbians living with diabetes.

Mennonite Brethren Church is located at 2658 Ospika Blvd.
