The federal government is looking for up to 90 people worthy of winning awards for excellence in teaching and excellence in early child education.
The awards acknowledge the contributions recipients have made as leaders and innovators, developing creative and effective ways to help students learn and excel - ranging from innovative approaches in early childhood development to exceptional use of information and communication technologies in the classroom.
Up to 90 of the awards are offered with up to 65 for teaching excellence (15 excellence and 50 achievement) and up to 25 awards for excellence in early childhood education (10 excellence and 15 achievement) available.
Also, under the teaching excellence awards, a special space award will be presented to a top-ranked teacher or teaching team who has demonstrated outstanding, innovative and creative teaching in the areas of space sciences, technology, engineering and/or mathematics in a K-12 setting.
The deadline for nominations is November 30.
