Don Zurowski is now part of the governance team of the BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo). The former Prince George city councillor and retired businessman is the only northerner on the 11-member board.
PavCo is a provincial Crown corporation that operates two of BC's largest public assembly facilities: BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.
"With the expansion of the Vancouver Convention Centre and the revitalization of BC Place complete, the PavCo board will now shift their focus from construction-centred projects to strategic marketing and business development initiatives for both properties," said Pat Bell, Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation under which PavCo operates.
On Wednesday, Bell announced the appointment of five new members, including Zurowski and reappointment of six existing members.
His resume also includes being a past small business owner, a director on the Fraser-Fort George Regional District, chairing the Fraser-Fort George Hospital District, chairing the Northwest Transportation Corridor Development Corporation and sitting on the provincial Minister of Transportation's regional advisory committee. He has also been involved in Big Brothers and Sisters, the Yellowhead Rotary Club, Tourism Prince George and Prince George After-Hours.
Currently, Zurowski is the chair of the International Bioenergy Conference and Exhibition Society, and the Passenger Transportation Board.
