The North District RCMP's emergency response team was called in Saturday to help execute high-risk search warrants on two homes in the VLA.
In all, 11 people were arrested, several weapons were seized and a large amount of property believed to have been stolen was also recovered in from the homes, located in the 1300 block of Strathcona Avenue and the 2200 block of Oak Street.
The emergency response team is made up of RCMP members trained in the use of specialized weapons, equipment and tactics to resolve extremely high-risk situations.
"The use of the emergency response team in this investigation was necessary to better ensure police and public safety," RCMP said.
Charges remain pending.
