A set of Early Childhood Education students at CNC are putting their charity energies towards Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre.

"Our goal is to raise money and get donations from the community to help support their program. The money raised will help to purchase materials for the daycares," said student Jenna Weldon. "We aren't asking for large donations. We are making baskets with donated items for a silent auction, some will be door prizes, so anything is great."

The Carney Hill Neighbourhood Centre is based at inner city Carney Hill Elementary School but is part of a community hub facility there, and also has a satellite program at the South Fort George Community Centre.

The CNC students' activities culminate in a dinner, dance and auction on Feb. 27 at the Greek Hall (511 Tabor Blvd).

To donate to the event e-mail chncfundraiser@hotmail.com or call the CHNC office at 250-563-0858.
