A 48-year-old man is in custody following what police are calling a "brutal assault" on a 73-year-old woman late Wednesday night on a rural property east of Prince George.
The woman was transported by ambulance to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries from what police believe to be blunt force trauma.
The man, who was arrested at the scene without incident, is known to the victim, police said.
Prince George RCMP's serious crime section is leading the investigation and further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
