RCMP seized drugs, a loaded gun, other weapons, drug trafficking paraphernalia and $2,000 cash from a home in the 1800 block of Upland Street on April 1.

RCMP officers seized quantities of drugs, a loaded gun, other weapons, drug trafficking paraphernalia and $2,000 in cash from a home in the 1900 block of Upland Street on April 1.

Members of the RCMP Downtown Safety Unit, Street Crew Unit and frontline officers executed a search warrant on the residence under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act, a statement issued by police on Thursday said.

“While conducting their investigation into suspected drug trafficking, (the) Downtown Safety Unit recognized that the majority of people visiting the home were people occupying the downtown core,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in the statement. “This residence was likely being used to supply illicit drugs to those who live and frequent the area, states media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.”

One man was arrested at the home, and released pending the results of the full investigation. Police seized what is believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl and various types of prescription pills.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300. Tips can also be made anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477), or online at www.northernbccrimestoppers.ca (English only).
