RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed a daylight assault on a busy Prince George street late Tuesday afternoon to contact police.
Mounties came across the victim shortly before 5 p.m. walking along the 3000 block of 10th Avenue suffering from minor injuries caused by what appeared to be a blunt object.
"The victim is well known to police and was not cooperative," RCMP said and added he was taken into custody after treatment at the hospital because there were two arrest warrants to his name.
"Police are confident that this was a targeted attack in relation to the drug trade and that the general public are not at risk," RCMP said.
A 2900-block 10th Avenue home was subsequently checked to ensure there were no other victims and a police dog and handler were called in to search for suspects and evidence.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
