A 62-year-old man was sentenced to 241 days in jail this week for drug trafficking.

Alan Victor Whittell was issued the term Wednesday in Prince George provincial court after he was arrested in September 2012 when police raided a 1700 block Tamarack Street home, just north of 20th Avenue.

Heroin, prescription morphine and an assortment of drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized and a 42-year-old woman, who was not subsequently charged, was also taken into custody.

Whittell has been in custody since September 2013 when he was arrested on another charge of trafficking.
