A street-level drug dealer has been sentenced to three years in jail.
Melvin Earl Neil Robinson, 55, was issued the term Friday in Prince George provincial court for three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking from a Jan. 31 arrest, when he was a passenger in a vehicle being driven along Milburn Avenue without insurance.
By then, Robinson was known to police because he had been arrested Jan. 10, also on trafficking charges. A subsequent search by police uncovered 22 grams of crack cocaine, 11.5 grams of methamphetamine and 0.5 grams of heroin.
From the first arrest, Robinson was issued a concurrent term of two-and-a-half years in jail for three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was arrested on a property in the 1800 block of Ninth Avenue, where slightly more than 15 grams of crack cocaine, about 28 grams of methampthetamine and slightly more than 12 grams of heroin were found on him.
Between the two arrests, Robinson was released from custody on Jan. 14.
Christina Louise Lewis, 32, was also arrested on Jan. 10 and is scheduled to make a first appearance in court in March on two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
