The subject of a major drug investigation was sentenced Tuesday to a further two years less a day in jail on two counts of possessing for the purpose of trafficking.

Well known to the police and courts, Mitchell Allen Crosby, 27, was arrested May 5 when police executed a search warrant on a 2100-block Victoria Street home.

They seized a 28 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of methamphetamine, $5,000 of cash, brass knuckles, nunchucks, and one set of body armour,

The arrest came out of an investigation launched April 27 by the CFSEU's North District detachment, in collaboration with the Prince George RCMP's street crew unit and North District RCMP's federal and serious organized crime unit.

In all, Crosby was sentenced to 30 months, but received credit of six months for time served prior to sentencing.

Crosby was also sentenced to a concurrent term of two years, less credit of 18 months for time served prior to sentencing on two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking from an April 6, 2016 arrest in the parking lot of a Central Street restaurant.

Police, who had been conducting an undercover drug investigation, saw Crosby make a "hand-to-hand" exchange of drugs with Kelly Michael Richet and swooped in.

The next day, a search warrant was executed on a 900-block Ahbau Street home and a storage facility. Police seized 140 grams of heroin and 85 grams of cocaine as well as a handgun with ammunitiion, a shotgun and about $20,000 cash.

Three other people were also subsequently arrested. In May, Richet was sentenced to 18 months in jail. Charges against Craig Anthony Neidermayer, Miranda Dingwall and Kylah Annaliese Marie Franks have since been stayed.
