A 50-year-old Fort St. John man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a report of erratic driving led to the discovery of 32 grams of cocaine police say was destined for Prince George's streets.

The man, whose name was not released, was apprehended after Prince George RCMP received calls at about 6:30 a.m. of a red pickup truck swerving enough to hit a curb and a median in the Fifth and Foothills area.

A truck matching the description was located in a construction site at Fifth and Tabor. The driver was arrested at the scene. A search yielded open liquor, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and the cocaine, police said.

Police are recommending charges of dangerous driving and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
