Driver not at fault in hitting walker

The driver was not at fault when a 23-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle after she stepped onto Highway 16 West late Wednesday night, police have determined.

The driver was not at fault when a 23-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle after she stepped onto Highway 16 West late Wednesday night, police have determined.

"A number of witnesses at the scene reported the female suddenly entered the flow of traffic

in such a manner as the vehicle was unable to stop," Prince George RCMP Cst. Kristopher Martin said. "No charges are being considered against the driver."

The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after emergency personnel were called to the scene shortly after 10 p.m.
