The driver of a van who appeared to have tried crossing four lanes of Highway 97 in Quesnel died Friday when the vehicle was struck by a pickup truck.
The investigation was in its early stages, but Quesnel RCMP said it appeared the driver was trying to reach an adjacent side street at the intersection of Highway 97 and Dragon Hill Road on the south side of Quesnel.
The driver and a passenger in the van were transported to hospital in Quesnel, where the driver died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Names were being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
