Prince George's Downtown Renewable Energy System has been featured on the August edition of Canadian Biomass Magazine.
Since 2012, the city's district energy system has used waste heat generated at Lakeland Mills to heat a dozen buildings downtown, including city hall, the Bob Harkins branch of the Prince George Public Library, Two Rivers Gallery and the RCMP detachment. The new pool being built to replace the Four Seasons Leisure Pool will also be connected to the system.
