A woman fell and almost did not get back up ever again.
The 75-year-old Burns Lake elder had slipped in her home and could not get back to her feet or move about. She was like that for three to four days before an RCMP officer knocked on the door.
"One of the officers heard a faint reply knock. We had to force our way in, and we found her laying on the floor in distress," said Staff Sgt. Mike Kisters, commander of the Burns Lake detachment. "She's a tough old gal. She was in rough shape but she was conscious when we got there."
