Donor comes through for CDC

A $5,000 donation by TD Waterhouse will allow the Child Development Centre to continue to run its specialized programs without increase costs to users.

A $5,000 donation by TD Waterhouse will allow the Child Development Centre to continue to run its specialized programs without increase costs to users.

"It's really important to allow us to run programming that doesn't discriminate based on financial ability to pay fees," the centre's executive director Darrell Roze said.

The money helps to fund group sessions of about eight children with fine motor skills or communication delays. An occupational therapist or speech language pathologist along with early childhood educators meet with the children once a week during the school year to help them better integrate into the classroom.

Over the past six years TD has donated $20,000 to the centre to help with the program. This year's contribution is the largest ever by the financial institution.
