There was a report of a disturbance at a local night club early Friday morning that escalated into a domestic dispute between a man and a woman.
When police investigated it was revealed the man possibly had possession of a SKS assault rifle. The man fled the night club when police were called and was later found on PG Pulpmill Road and taken into custody.
A follow-up investigation and search, with the help of police dog services, saw the seizure of an SKS assault rifle, ammunition and two prohibited SKS magazines.
Charges are being pursued for the domestic dispute as well as firearms and alcohol offences.
