Police are certain that Bobby Jack Fowler killed Colleen MacMillen.

MacMillen was 16 when she disappeared in 1974 from her Cariboo home. Her murdered body was found about a month later near 100 Mile House.

RCMP and U.S. law enforcement announced that Fowler, an American convict with a history of violence and transience, and a suspect in a number of young female cases south of the border, was indeed the one responsible for the death of this local girl. Advancements in DNA technology made the positive identification possible only this year.

Fowler was also known to work for a Prince George roofing company in 1974. Investigators can find little information about that company. Anyone who knows anything about Happy's Roofing is asked to contact the the RCMP as soon as possible.

Fowler died in an Oregon prison after his conviction in 1996.
