The school district is waiting for the proposed contract with teachers to be ratified before letting parents know when schools will reopen.
Teachers are to vote today on whether to approve the latest offer from the provincial government.
"We'll have to wait until we hear beyond that before we can answer anything definitive," superintendent Brian Pepper said Wednesday.
He said the school district office has been getting "August volumes" of calls from parents in anticipation of schools reopening next week but the office is remaining tight-lipped about details.
"We have planned numerous contingencies, depending on what transpires," Pepper said.
Pepper advised parents to keep an eye on the school district website, as well as on the websites for their respective schools. He also said parents can visit the websites for the B.C. Teachers Federation and the B.C. Public School Employers Association for the latest developments.
