Dippers brave icy water and cold wind during Ness Lake Bible Camp's annual Polar Bear Dip

Annual event raises over twenty thousand dollars to help send kids to camp

Ness Lake Bible Camp held their 21st Annual Polar Bear Dip on Saturday afternoon.

Outside temperatures hovered around -11C before the start of the dip, however sustained 40 km/h winds with gusts up to 60 km/h quickly brought the temperature back down to close to -30C.

Despite the weather, twenty-seven brave souls jumped into the icy cold waters of Ness Lake in the annual fundraiser and helped raise $20,955. All funds collected from the dip go to the camp's Camp Sponsorship Fund which helps send kids to camp who wouldn't otherwise get the chance to go.

The top fundraiser for this year's dip were Mark and Carol Stofer, who raised $12,165, bringing their three-year fundraising total to $39,926.
