The story of special friendship between two people that some would see as profoundly disabled will be told on the film Body and Soul: Diana and Kathy. It's part of the Travelling Film Festival to be shown at 12:10 p.m. March 25 at Raven Haven, 421 George St. during the Brown Bag lunch cinema series. The film provides a rare look at an unusual relationship between two advocates for people with disabilities - one has Down Syndrome and the other lives with cerebral palsy.

Fearful of being forced into a nursing home or state institution, the two women broke the rules, escaped the system, and modelled a grand experiment in independent living. Tickets are at Books and Co., Sassafras Savouries, or at the door.
