Prince George has closed off a section of Victoria Street in the VLA after reports of a damaged section of asphalt on Wednesday (Aug. 7).
The city assigned crews to the scene shortly after receiving the call and found a damaged pipe leading into a large culvert that was pulling soil and other material away, causing a slight sinkhole.
Crews had to dig 12 feet beneath the surface to find the destabilization, located half-a-block south of Milburn Avenue.
Today (Aug. 9), workers are determining the best way to fix the culvert and the road once that task is complete.
No vehicles are being allowed between Milburn and McCullagh Avenues until construction is finished.
